Trust Precision Engineering: precision and quality control for the aerospace industry

The company and the challenge

Founded in 2012, Trust Precision Engineering specializes in the manufacture of precision components, primarily for the aerospace industry.
Through continuous investment in technology and innovation, the company has significantly increased its production capacity while expanding its customer base.

This rapid growth, however, introduced a new challenge. As production volumes increased, carrying out dimensional inspections on every component became increasingly difficult.
As founder Nick Street explains, the company needed to increase inspection capacity to maintain the high quality standards required by the aerospace sector.

Investing in VICIVISION

To meet this challenge, Trust Precision Engineering partnered with VICIVISION UK, selecting two VICIVISION M304 TECHNO systems for dimensional inspection directly on the shop floor.

The systems enable fast and comprehensive measurements next to the machining centres, allowing multiple operators to perform inspections without interrupting production. By eliminating the need to transfer parts to the metrology room, inspection times have been significantly reduced, improving overall production efficiency.

For Nick Street, the return on investment was another key advantage:

"For most of the equipment in this inspection room, it would take at least two years to achieve a return on investment. With a VICIVISION machine, the investment pays for itself in just six months to one year. The technical specifications were outstanding, along with the speed, ease of programming, and incredibly fast inspection times."

He also adds:

"When I purchased my first machine, I saved £15,000. When I bought the second one, I saved another £15,000. And when I purchase the third, I'll save another £15,000."

Why VICIVISION made the difference

Beyond speed, Trust Precision Engineering found in VICIVISION a solution capable of improving its entire quality control process.

The systems inspect every external dimension of the component, ensuring that no critical or seemingly secondary feature is overlooked. In addition, every inspected part can be archived with its corresponding image, providing complete traceability and allowing the company to remeasure a component months later if required.

Equally important was the support provided by VICIVISION UK. Fast technical assistance, operator training, on-site machine calibration, and remote support have all contributed to building a long-term partnership based on trust and reliability.

As Nick Street explains:

"With VICIVISION, we're confident that every dimension is checked. We don't want to leave anything to chance. Sometimes it's easy to focus on one critical feature and overlook another that seems less important. VICIVISION measures every external dimension, ensuring nothing is missed."

The Results: quality, confidence, and sustainable growth

The introduction of VICIVISION has enabled Trust Precision Engineering to increase inspection capacity without slowing production, while providing greater confidence in the quality of every component.

As Nick Street concludes:

"It's one less thing for me to worry about and gives me complete confidence in what we're doing."

For the company, quality is directly linked to reputation.

"Our motto is 'Reputation is everything,' and in this industry, that's absolutely true. Every component you deliver has to be perfect."

According to Graham Shaw, Sales Director at VICIVISION UK:

"Trust Precision Engineering had very demanding requirements. By working closely with the customer, we were able to deliver exactly the solution they needed, enabling them to continue meeting the high expectations of their own customers."
