For more than fifty years, Sarbo S.p.A. has specialized in the production of precision turned metal components for demanding industries including mechanical engineering, electronics, automotive, motorcycle, hydraulics, food processing, and medical devices. Quality control as part of the production process

To ensure stable and repeatable production processes, Sarbo has installed several VICIVISION optical measuring systems, both on the shop floor and in its controlled metrology room.

The systems installed alongside the production lines allow operators to continuously monitor tool wear and immediately identify when a dimension starts approaching its tolerance limits. This enables the company to keep production centered within specification while meeting the demanding quality requirements of industries such as automotive, where process capability (CP and CPK) plays a crucial role.

As Cristian Perinel explains:

"With VICIVISION optical measuring machines, we have solved two fundamental challenges: monitoring tool wear and inspecting outgoing parts before shipment."

More inspections in less time

In addition to the machines installed on the shop floor, Sarbo also uses a VICIVISION system in its controlled metrology room to perform outgoing inspections before shipment.

Automating the inspection process has significantly increased the number of dimensional checks without requiring additional personnel. Even during periods of high production volumes, the company can now inspect a much larger number of batches while maintaining consistent quality standards.

The result is a faster, more efficient inspection process that supports production growth without creating bottlenecks.

The implementation of VICIVISION systems has significantly improved the efficiency of Sarbo's entire manufacturing process.

Continuous in-process inspection allows operators to keep production centered within tolerance limits, while the measuring system installed in the metrology room has dramatically reduced the time required for final inspections.

As Cristian Perinel concludes:

"The measuring systems on the shop floor have enabled us to increase productivity while keeping the process centered within tolerance. At the same time, the machine in our metrology room has allowed us to cut inspection time in half."
