Young operators and innovation: Arcoprofil chooses VICIVISION industrial metrology

Arcoprofil was founded in the 1970s.
This small family business was once involved in the textile industry, but now our focus is the precision mechanical manufacturing sector.
We use the Grob cold rolling process extensively and the axial forming with a Felss machine, a technique we were first to introduce in Italy.
Using this method improved significantly the quality of the spline.

Working mainly with foreign markets it prompted us to implement more sustainable practices over the last 10 years.
In Europe, especially the Nordic countries, there is a high level of commitment in environmental and ecological awareness.
The first thing we did when we moved into this new facility was to cover the entire roof with solar panels giving us approximately 35% of the energy we consume when working at full capacity.
Thanks to this photovoltaic system, we could achieve our goal of reducing CO2 by 830 tons per year.

Anything that is rejected by our machines, the scraps resulting from the machining of parts are sorted and reintroduced into a new production is sorted and recycled back into production as much as possible.

With the VICIVISION machine I can create programs from scratch ensuring that the operator can check the part and be confident about the work he is doing.
By completing these checks, it helps save time and avoid rejects.

The operators previously checked the parts manually, a task that took 10 and 15 minutes to be complete because they had to use multiple tools that were required to check various specifications.
Now, this proof system requires almost no influence from the operator.

I think the advantage of having this machine is I know I can proceed with the entire batch once the measurement is successfully done. The results are quick and reliable.

Using a VICIVISION makes it easier to obtain measurements whereas before this was performed by using a manual layout with traditional tools.

Nowadays, it is difficult to find workforce in this job market, a problem shared by all companies in this area. However, we believe the obstacles we face as a company create an opportunity for us to innovate. In response to this issue, we have thought about building an Academy for mechanical operators.
This is one of many instances where we have incorporated different ideas out of a need to find a solution.
If you enjoy the job you are doing you have a desire to bring creative ideas to the company and to your colleagues because you can express yourself freely.

This leads a plurality of new ideas influenced by different perspectives which is the true added value of Arcoprofil.
